Fastnacht is a PA dutch yeast and potato pastry (similar to a doughnut) deep-fried in lard. Traditionally made for Shrove (Fat) Tuesday, the day before lent. Fastnachts were made to empty the pantry of lard, sugar, and butter for the holy season. Our Fastnachts are made using a family recipe passed down for generations.
